Indiana Pacers center Ivica Zubac will miss the rest of the season with a fractured rib, the Indianapolis Star reported Friday.
Zubac, who turned 29 on Wednesday, sustained the injury during that night’s 127-119 home loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Zubac left that contest with a head contusion after an elbow from Portland’s Donovan Clingan but was holding an ice pack on his side after the game.
Acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 5, Zubac averaged 11.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in five starts with the Pacers. He averaged 14.4 points and 11.0 boards in 43 games (42 starts) for the Clippers.
The 10-year NBA veteran has career averages of 10.5 points and 8.3 rebounds in 632 games (498 starts) with the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and Pacers.
