Report: Morgan Burnett to sign with Steelers

It appears the Green Bay Packers may suffer another loss to their already-thin secondary, as Morgan Burnett may be leaving for Pittsburgh.

Former Packers wide receiver James Jones, currently working with the NFL Network, reported the news late last night on Twitter.

Burnett had nine interceptions, eight fumbles forced and 7.5 sacks in eight seasons with the Packers after being picked in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has always spoken very highly of Burnett. “He is just a heck of a football player,” McCarthy said in September. “He’s one of my all-time favorites because of just the way he goes about his business.”

Second-year player Josh Jones figures to slide in as a starting safety next to Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
