Busy Brewers trade for Christian Yelich, sign Lorenzo Cain

The Milwaukee Brewers acquired outfielder Christian Yelich from the Miami Marlins in exchange for four Brewers prospects. (Read all about it at SportsIllustrated.com)

Over the next five years, Yelich is owed $58.25 million.

The Gold Glove and Silver Slugger winner hit .282 last season with 18 home runs and 16 stolen bases.

On Dec. 18, ESPN reported Yelich was unhappy with the current Marlins situation, wanting to talk with the front office before making any decisions about his future.

Milwaukee sent Lewis Brinson and Monte Harrison, infielder Isan Diaz and pitcher Jordan Yamamoto to Miami in exchange for the 26-year-old Yelich.

(UPDATE) The Brewers also signed outfielder Lorenzo Cain, according to Ken Rosenthal.

According to ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick, Cain reportedly signed a five-year contract worth $80 million to return to Milwaukee — where he began his MLB career. (Read all about it at CBSSports.com)

Take a deep breath. The Brewers are likely done making moves for the night. (We think.)
