Aaron Rodgers is a Mike Pettine Guy

The Green Bay Packers made a lot of changes this offseason, but perhaps the most impactful was the hiring of defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.

The new man in charge of the Packers’ defense has caught the attention of the two-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. On multiple occasions, Rodgers has been effusive in his praise for Pettine. The two have communicated “across” the hall regarding how each other would counter-act one another.

“Being in a room with (Pettine) and talking ball is definitely good for our football team, good for me, and you see his knowledge,” Rodgers said. “Hearing in him front of the room was very impressive. He can command a room like a former head coach should be able to … Pretty damn good plan, too … It’s exciting once we get in to real games that count to watch those guys and the full package of plays and adjustments that they can do.”

Will that translate to a much-improved defense? Time will tell.
